What is the D’ART Collective
About the D’ART
Collective
The holistic health and well-being of pastors, churches, and congregations, which serve the African American community and the Christian church at large, is the ongoing work of the HUMC and the GUILD: creating strong communities of practice, which offer multiple opportunities for spiritual formation, growth, and discipleship.
The emphasis of The D’ART Collective Congregational Learning and Leading Program is on education and training; teaching and learning. There must be a deep appreciation for congregational study and development in the service of church vitality and community engagement. This model of congregational learning and leading will facilitate deep connections with denominational, community, and corporate partners.
Our Mission
The D’ART Collective’s aim is to expand and enrich the work of the local church by offering training and development in the missional use of technology and the arts to attract and offer Christ to the growing number of religiously unaffiliated youth and adults.
Vision
The D’ART Collective desires to help congregations thrive by strengthening their ministries to better help people deepen their relationships with God, enhance their connections with each other, and contribute to the flourishing of their communities and the world.
Values
The D’ART Collective values the strength and contributions of Christian congregations to foster ecumenical collaborations, build bridges across societal differences, address new challenges, and nurture the spiritual vitality among the people they serve.

The D’ART Collective Pathways
The D’ART Collective Curriculum is delivered
in six developmental pathways leading to a systematic study of congregations. In addition, it is an integrated assemblage of research-based best practices, instructional strategies, activities, and assessments designed to induce and promote vital congregational thriving.
The six pathways are:
The six pathways are: Theology, Identity, Community, Process, Program, and Implementation. Extending Christian discipleship through the arts and technology acknowledges the plethora of research, which recognizes that technology has rewired our brains. Research further acknowledges that technology has changed the way we live, work, play, communicate, learn, and interact with one another.
Needless to say, technology has changed the way we
worship and practice our faith. The D’ART Collective seeks to harness the power of technology and the appeal of the arts to draw youth, the religiously unaffiliated, and those who have become apathetic and unconnected to the Christian faith.
